Located on the west coast of Africa, the Port of Luanda is responsible for transporting around 80% of Angola's exports and imports. The Port of Luanda is an Angolan port located in the city of Luanda, the national capital. It is connected to the city center of Luanda and the Ingombota district. It is located in the bay of Luanda, which is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by the island of Luanda.
The Port of Lobito – E.P, is a large public company, endowed with legal personality, autonomy and administrative, financial power and patrimonial.
Built in a deep natural water bay, approximately 5 km long, 600 m at the entrance and almost 1.5 km at the widest part, recording depths between 15 and 36 m, with 1.90 m being the largest tidal range.
Founded on March 24, 1928, in light of Law no. 9/95 of September 15, by its Port Domain statutes, Decree no. 52/97. In accordance with presidential decree No. 101/10, of June 2010, the company's governing bodies are a Board of Directors, composed of 1 President, 4 Executive Directors and 2 non-Executive Directors.
